ray-eous: bidding farewell to a year of Remembrance

2009, it seems like a year that has no hope for me.

This was what i thought when the year started. 2009 was such a different year for me. Moving down to Johor Bahru, starting my life over again. I had to leave much behind, well, a lot behind...
I had to leave ALL i had behind...

Moving down to JB was actually not much of a big deal. I'm familiar with the place, but not the faces... Since i had moved down to JB, i was transferred to the big-gun school here- Foon Yew High School.

I still remembered vividly how i walked into that school on the first day school started. Mum sent me there, i stepped out of the car, remembered which path i should take in order to find my classroom (one of the friends i met at a orientation camp before school started).

I climbed 4 stories, and headed for the 2nd classroom on the left. I walked in and saw a huge guy (just big sized) looking at something. I went over shook his hand, and introduced myself. Little did i know that he was going to be my monitor that year, and was staying near me. Ng Kang Hao was his name, although i do call him "fei Hao" sometimes- fat Hao. I also got to know some weird and fun friends like Goh Yi Jue (chicken leg), Ng Xing Ying (big head), Thye Hong Chee (curly hair pal), and Chuah Shi Ying (whose favourite slogan is: one slap let you die). These are the people i lend me weekly journal to, cause my journal is so darn funny... Come to think of it, these guys owe me much of subscription fee...

Well, much followed... A lot of things happened, really. But i would not want to go into such details. Hmm, well, here are some highlights of the year (in school):

Birthday scare:

12 Jan my birthday. Form teacher decided to make a fool out of me. Some new friend told him that it was my birthday and he arrange me to go search for his desk in the staffroom while he arranged a surprised for me. When i came back, he acted angry as i went did find out where his desk was. He walked out, made me so shocked & embarrassed. Later he walked in singing "happy birthday" with all of the pranksters in class. Scared the shit out of me... Nice one, though.

Drama champs (english):

Champions!!! Woho!!! Me like.... Haha... After all the hard work we put in, we finally got our reward by winning in style. The drama script had to be written over and over again so many times. Main authors though, are Chia Sin Lio and the brilliant me. Minor authors, everyone of the drama team: Chin Lip Yik, Lee Huey Chyuan, Lim Joon Fai, Yee Chee Keong and Thye Hong Chee. Haha.. Also, the team had to spend the night at Thye Hong Chee's house to practice till 3am!!! Well, we also had our fun by watching resident evil 1. It was so fun. You should have seen the way Sin Lio reacted on every frightening scene... Actually she watched the whole movie with the blanket covering her eyes. Haha...

Drama champs again (malay):

Haha... To be honest i wasn't in the team, but i did help out, on the script... Well, maybe not as much as the english drama script, but hey, i made an effort. I had to figure out some the script with Sin Lio and i had to stay back on purpose.. After that, i watched the team practice in front of, of all places, the library building. It was fun, watching them train so whole heartedly. I gave some suggestions. And in the end, CHAMPS again!!!

Forum 1st runner up (malay):

This is sort of embarrassing. During the forum not only i was fooling around making the contestants laugh, i was copying the contestants actions teasing them, especially the one group that had a mic trying speech when there wasn't any mic there. Haha.. How dumb. Well, when it was my turn, i almost forgot my speech, and i was teased back by the other contestants. Worst still, while we it was our turn, there was a broad casted announcement. But, my team continued without bothering it. And somehow, we got 2nd prize.

School aniversary charity event:

My form was supposed to do a amusement center thingy. We decided to do a maze. After loads of planning, which i also played a part, the maze came alive. Though we had a major problem constructing the maze (we had to come early the 2nd day to finish the job), it paid off. The maze was a hit. Many customers came. And we earned quite a sum. Hooray!!! Well, we had some hard working peoples standing by the maze operation: Thye Hong Chee, Tan Yi Hong, Lee Huey Chyuan, Liu Jin Cheh, Tay Kai Cher, Lim You Sen, Wan Shy Rui, Khor Li Kuan, Yap Yi Min, Law Jia Jin, Tan Jia Xuan, Toh Yi Jing, Tay Sing Ye, Chuah Shi Ying and Goh Pei Yin. You guys really helped out a lot with the game station in the maze. :)

Well, i think that's most of the fun i had in Foon Yew in year 2009. Memorable right? Yeah, it was so darn memorable... Miss it, love it, treasure it, never forget it. At least i've found my light here in JB..

Well, goodbye 2009, adieus amigo. Or should i say farewell S1s2, the class the Ray leong lee man studied in 2009... Muaks... Thanks for the memories.
